Elizabeth Lima
Artists-in-Residence
Elizabeth Lima is an independent composer, performer, vocalist and clarinetist working in a full range of genres. The centrepiece of her work is the emotional response to sound: the human experience and interconnection shared amongst musicians and with the audience. She creates performances in which traditional and extended musical techniques are combined with theatrical and literary elements. She currently holds a Canada Council for the Arts for a project researching and creating a body of work around female madness: investigating various perceptions and perspectives of madness explored through music, literature and theatre.
Artist-in-residence at York University, January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021.
